Q. What is the minimum level of English required for the students aspiring to study abroad?
English requirement depends on three things degree subject, university and country. The general rule of thumb is to have a minimum IELTS score of 6.5 (academic) with no element less than 6.0. It will make you eligible to apply with most universities around the world. However, some subject may require higher than 6.5 scores in each element of IELTS.
Q. How long does it take to get accepted into university?
There is no set time frame for this. Universities usually evaluate students as and when they receive the application. As a standard practice, universities aim to reply within three weeks. Keep checking your email regularly including your spam box. Some times email arrive at your spam box and get unnoticed.
Q. Is there any application deadline for international students?
University application deadline varies and depends on the semester of your choice. There are three admission intakes in a year – September, January and May. Application deadline for international students ends earlier than local students. June is the usual deadline for September intake. October is for the January intake. We encourage international students to apply as early as possible. Not leave it to the last moment.
Q. Can international students work besides attending a university course?
In general student visa comes with work permission. Most country permits a maximum of 20 hours of work during the term time and full-time during the vacation. So international students can only work outside of their lesson time.
Q. What is the average monthly expense for an individual student?
The monthly living expense depends on your lifestyle and the country you are going to select. Therefore, a minimum of $800 is required if you are willing to share accommodation and live within a tight budget. These exclude tuition fees and other educational expenses.
